Officers nominated for the Course, on getting confirmation from the Academy, should report at the Senior Officers' Mess atleast one day before the commencement of the course.

Intimation of Travel Plans: Officers are requested to intimate their travel plans well in advance to enable the Academy to provide them transport at the airport / railway station.
All Courses are residential and officers will be accommodated in the Senior Officers' Mess. The messing is on non-profit basis and is approximately Rs.100/- per person per day. Since family accommodation is very limited, officers in need of family accommodation should apply for it well in advance and bring their families only after obtaining confirmation of allotment. Officers are requested not to bring their orderlies / security aides etc. Dogs and other pets are not permitted in the Mess.
  Mess Descipline
Officers will observe Mess discipline and Service throughout their stay in the Academy. Officers should not come to the Mess lounge in casuals (e.g. Chappals, sleep suit etc.,). Consumption of alcoholic drinks in the Academy campus is prohibited. Children are not allowed in the lounge / dining hall of the Central I.P.S. Mess. On arrival, the officers are expected to pay an advance towards the Mess charges as intimated from time to time. This advance will be adjusted against their final mess bill.
  Dress & Accoutrements
For all uniformed officers participating in various Inservice Courses of more than one weeks duration in the Academy, wearing of working uniform during forenoon sessions is compulsory from Monday to Friday. All police officers that draw Kit Maintenance Allowance irrespective of their present place of posting shall put on the prescribed uniform in the Academy. Officers from organisations like N.S.G., S.P.G., can wear their own uniform similarly, attending morning outdoor activities and after lunch indoor / outdoor activities in white P.T. Shorts / T-shirt / White Shoes / Socks is compulsory for all participants wherever they might be posted. The dress order for class attendance on Saturday forenoons is Shirt & Tie. Lounge suit will be worn on formal occasions. For all participants attending Seminars / Workshops / Short-duration Courses (One week or less), the dress order is civvies (shirt & tie) for forenoon sessions. All the participants are expected to scrupulously follow the dress order in the Academy. Smoking in classrooms and common areas in the Academy is prohibited. Sporting of long hair should be avoided.   Pay & Allowances
All officers will draw their pay and allowance from their parent State / Organisations.
  Medical Facilities
The Academy has a hospital with two full time doctors whose services will be available to the officers attending the Course. The officers must take all anti-malaria precautions such as use of mosquito nets and mosquito repellent creams. Timings of the hospital are from 0900 -1230hrs. And from 1800 to 2000 hrs. on all working days.
There is a branch of the State Bank of Hyderabad in the Academy premises. All Officer Trainees must open an account with the Bank immediately on arrival. Their pay and allowances will be credited to their accounts and all payments will be made by crossed cheques. Officer Trainees are advised not to keep excess cash or valuables in their living rooms.
Officers are advised to deposit their money with the State Bank of Hyderabad located at the Academy premises, or the Canara Bank located close-by. The latter has the facility of lockers also. The Academy has no arrangement for safe custody of money valuables.
  Post Office
There is a Post Office at the Academy campus. The Pin Code is 500 052. Post Office Savings Bank, Telegraph, Public Call and Seed post
  Return Reservation
Officers who are coming for short duration Courses are advised to secure reservation for their return journey from their destination before departure. This would obviate the difficulty in getting reservations from Hyderabad. However, all assistance will be provided by the Academy in obtaining reservations.
Officers are not allowed any leave during the Course. They must make suitable arrangements so that they are not called for duties like Court evidence. Etc. No officer will be permitted to leave.
  Interaction with IPS Trainees
The participants, during their stay in the Academy will be requested to talk to probationers of their respective cadres and familiarise them with the Police environment in the States concerned. Participants who have in-depth experience or expertise in subjects relevant to the IPS Probationers may volunteer to deliver lectures to them.
  Course Methodology
The participants will be expected to produce individual project reports, syndicate reports, book reviews and case studies. They should come prepared with suitable materials.
  Case Study
Each participant is required to present a case study (investigation or law and order) which was investigated or supervised by him during his career.
  Project Report
An individual project report is also to be prepared by each participant in an area of Police Administration with which the participant is not directly connected till date. Suggested fields of study with innovative ideas/ initiatives include:
  • Community Policing
  • Streamlining of grievances redressal mechanism
  • Neutralising gender/communal bias of police
  • Human rights and Police
  • Victimology, etc.
  Book Review
Each participant is also required to submit review of a book to be selected on reporting at the Academy.
Yoga/meditation sessions in the forenoons and games in the afternoons are scheduled for all participants.
  Course Evaluation
At the end of the Course, the participants will fill up a format designed to evaluate the impact of at the Course on the Participants. There will be a discussion with the Course Director before the concluding session.
  Participant Evaluation
The Course Director and the Director will evaluate the contribution made by the each participant, his/her keenness, attendance, punctuality, turnout, conduct, etc. and send the same to the concerned DGPs and Government.
