3-Day Advanced Training in Vigilance Investigation

3-Day Advanced Training in Vigilance Investigation was conducted in the Academy on September 14-16, 2016. Objectives of training were Participants will be able to get a fair idea of investigation in Vigilance cases including preparation of final report and Exposure to various sessions will enable them in understanding the PC Act from practitioner's perspective and to take aid of technologies in Forensic Science. 28 officers from Banks, PSUs, Railways and other organizations attended the Workshop. Shri K.V. Chowdary, CVC was Chief Guest for the valedictory function.

Workshop on 'Negotiation Skills'

Workshop on 'Negotiation Skills' was conducted in the Academy on September 14-16, 2016. Objectives of workshop were Understanding the individual role in negotiation process, developing effective and successful negotiation strategies, create a sense of mutuality while negotiating with others, understand and improve Style and Strategies in Negotiation, emphasize the importance of communication and influencing in Negotiation and Understand the importance of impersonal representation in the Negotiation and Emotional Intelligence. 36 officers attended the Workshop. 3-days course on 'Radiological Safety, Monitoring & Detection' was conducted in the Academy on September 13-15, 2016. Objectives of course were Radiological Safety, Monitoring and Detection; Nuclear Forensics; Radiological/ Nuclear Threats/ Terrorism and Prevention, Preparedness and Response to Radiation Emergency. 30 officers attended the Workshop. Ms. Aruna Bahuguna, IPS, Director, SVPNPA was Chief Guest for the valedictory function.

4-Days Course on 'Disaster Management'

4-Days Course on 'Disaster Management' was conducted in the Academy on September 06-09, 2016. Objectives of course were Understanding the concept of Disaster Management; Appreciation of various Disasters-Natural and Man made; An overview of disaster management in India with the roles played by various agencies; Role and capabilities of NDRF and rising of SDRF instates; The incident command and control system and Best practices in Disaster Management. 27 officers attended the Course. Shri Rajeev Sabharwal, IPS, Joint Director (BC), SVP NPA was Chief Guest for the valedictory function.

Workshop on "Evaluation"

Workshop on "Evaluation" was conducted in the Academy on September 06-08, 2016. Workshop was jointly organized by GIZ(India) and Academy. Dr. Nikhil J Gupta was Course Director . Ms. Aruna Bahuguna, IPS, Director, SVPNPA was Chief Guest for the valedictory function.

3 day Seminar on 'Right to Information Act' was conducted in the Academy on September 06-08, 2016. Seminar Objectives were the purpose and concept of Right to Information; the Salient features of the Act and its possible implications; the process of seeking and providing information; list of exemptions prescribed; the procedure of appeals and penalties imposable by Information Commission; the Responsibilities of Public Authorities and the strategy for operationalizing Right to Information.17 Officers attended the Seminar. Ms. Aruna Bahuguna, IPS, Director, SVPNPA was Chief Guest for the valedictory function.

Basic Course on 'Economic Offences'

Basic Course on 'Economic Offences' was conducted in the Academy on August 29 - September 2, 2016. Course Objectives were to have a better understanding about the genesis and magnitude of economic crimes; Review the existing laws, policing, procedures and other control mechanisms for tackling such crimes; Analyse the limitations and constraints in enforcement and to suggest ways and means for their resolution and Appreciate current and future trends in economic crimes with a view to exploring new strategies and tactics for effective tackling of such crimes. 31 Officers attended the Course. Hon'ble Union Home Minister Shri Rajnath Singh addressed the participants in closing ceremony.

Seminar on "National Security"

Seminar on "National Security" was conducted in the Academy on August 29 - September 2, 2016. Seminar Objectives were To enhance awareness of the participants regarding different sources and dimensions of threat to national security; to sensitize the participants to latest emerging trends � domestic as well as international - affecting national security; to enable the participants to understand the nuances of national security challenges emanating from multiple sources, and deliberate on ways and means to promote adequate preparedness to counter the same and to promote inter-service interaction and coordination for a holistic approach to national security issues. 55 Officers attended the Seminar including IAS, IPS, IFS, IFoS, IRS and officers from Defense Forces & CAPFs. Dr. Arvind Gupta, Dy. NSA indurated the Seminar. Hon'ble Union Home Minister Shri Rajnath Singh addressed the participants in closing ceremony.

3 Days Course on 'Gender Budgeting'

3 Days Course on 'Gender Budgeting' was conducted in the Academy on August 22 - 24, 2016. Course Objectives were build awareness about the importance and need for Gender Budgeting in government department and Develop skills in using Gender Budgeting tools in officers particularly those who are in positions where budgetary planning and analysis is done. 17 Officers attended the Course. Ms. Firoza Mehrotra, IAS (Retd), Former Special Consultant, Planning Commission, Govt. of India was chief guest for the valedictory session.

Course on Advance Disc Forensics

Course on Advance Disc Forensics was conducted in the Academy on August 22 - 26, 2016. It was an advance (Level 2) course on Disc Forensics. Objectives of the course were to prepare officer for investigation of all types of Cyber Crime cases involving computer and to identify and train domain expertise in Cyber Forensics at managerial and executive level. 16 Officers attended the Course. Ms. Aruna Bahuguna, IPS, Director, SVPNPA was chief guest for valediction.

3 Days Workshop on Rapid DNA Forensics for Speedy Justice Delivery was conducted in the Academy on August 17 - 19, 2016. Objectives of the workshop were to disseminate information about new developments in the field of DNA technology and their applications, legal impact, etc.; to bring together practitioners and users of DNA fingerprinting on same platform; to promote the use of DNA technology; to provide a platform to formulate guideline on standards, quality assurance, proficiency testing, and accreditation of laboratories and methods related to DNA technology and to arrange technology audit in the area of DNA fingerprinting and other related technologies. 30 Officers attended the Course. Prof. Madabhushi Sridhar, Central Information Commissioner, New Delhi was chief guest for valediction.

Course on "Counter Terrorism-VI"

Course on "Counter Terrorism-VI" was conducted in the Academy on August 01 - 12, 2016. Objectives of the course were to sensitize and empower the Police Officers on collection of intelligence, conducting intelligence based operations and effective investigation in combating terrorism. 13 IPS Officers attended the Course. Shri K. Vijay Kumar, IPS (Retd.), SSA, MHA was chief guest for valediction.

Course on 'Missing Children'

Course on 'Missing Children' on July 25-29, 2016. Objectives of course were to sensitize the police officers about the issue of missing children; to train the police officers about the role of police in tracing out the missing children as well as to prevent human trafficking, child labour and other vices and the associated prosecution; to highlight the issues of coordination with stake-holders and inter-departmental/inter-sectoral coordination to trace the missing children and to apprise the participants about the need of creating a safe and secure environment for the children in the civil society. Ms. Aruna Bahuguna, IPS, Director, SVPNPA was Chief Guest for the valedictory function.

Seminar on "IT Applications in Indian Police "

Seminar on "IT Applications in Indian Police " was conducted in the Academy on July 04-05, 2016. Objectives of Seminar were To bring IT managers of different Police Organizations at one platform to share the challenges they have faced in use of IT and to educate the participants about the successfully implemented IT Applications by different Police Organizations and the way forward. 20 officers attended the Seminar. Shri Subhobroto Sinha, Microsoft, Hyderabad delivered the keynote address. Dr. M. Malakondaiah, IPS, DG (ACB), Andhra Pradesh was Chief Guest for the valedictory function.

3 Days Training of Trainers Workshop on "Competency Based Training"

3 Days Training of Trainers Workshop on "Competency Based Training" (in collaboration with GIZ, Germany) was conducted in the Academy on June 27-29, 2016. Objectives of workshop were Developing understanding of Competency Based Training, identifying areas for developing Competency Based Training Modules and developing effective training evaluation matrices to ensure long term impact. 35 officers attended the course. Shri Kumar Alok, Joint Secretary (Police - I), MHA, New Delhi inaugurated the workshop. Smt. Meeran C. Borwankar, IPS, Director General, BPR&D, New Delhi was Chief Guest for the valedictory function.

3 Day Course on "Conduct of Departmental Inquiry"

3 Day Course on "Conduct of Departmental Inquiry" was conducted in the Academy on June 20-22, 2016. Objectives of course were Departmental Inquiries - Context and Overview, Principles of Natural Justice, Constitutional Provisions relating to Disciplinary Proceedings, Correct procedure for conduct of the DEs in minor and major penalties, Role and responsibilities of Inquiry Officer, Presenting Officer, Defence Assistant, Appreciation of evidence in Departmental Proceedings, Achieving proportionality in punishments, Appeal, Review and Revision and Handling Judicial Scrutiny of Departmental Inquiries. 28 officers attended the course. Hon'ble Justice B.S.Chauhan, Chairman, Law Commission was the chief guest for the valediction.

Mid Career Training Programme Phase-V/4th Programme

Mid Career Training Programme Phase-V/4th Programme was conducted in the Academy from June 6-17, 2016. 72 Participants participated in the training. The training programme covered Change Management Module, Interaction with eminent Speakers, Team Building, Strategy & Innovation and Personal Leadership Module. Training programme was inaugurated by Shri R.N Ravi, Chairman of the Joint Intelligence Committee, GOI and Chief Guest for the valediction was Prof. Abhay Karandikar, Institute Chair Professor, Department of Electrical Engg., IIT Bombay.

Reunion Seminar of 1986 batch (39 RR) was held in the Academy on June 02-03, 2016. 72 Officers from 39 RR attended the Seminar. Theme of the Seminar was "Leadership Crisis in IPS". Ex-faculty of the 1986 batch Shri V.K.Deuskar, IPS(Retd.) & Shri R.K.Johari, IPS(Retd.) were also attended the Seminar. Ms. Aruna Bahuguna, IPS, Director was chief guest for Inauguration and Concluding session.

03-Day Course on "Human Trafficking"

03-Day Course on "Human Trafficking" was conducted in the Academy on May 25-27, 2016. Objectives of the Course were to the Concept of 'Human Trafficking' and its dimensions, to create awareness in the area of Law, policies and institutional response to Human Trafficking and to sensitize about best practices in Anti Human Trafficking strategies. 30 officers participated in the Seminar. Ms. Tejdeep Kaur Menon, IPS, DGP, SPF & I/c Commissioner Press was the chief Guest for valediction.

02-Day Seminar on "Community Policing"

02-Day Seminar on "Community Policing" was conducted in the Academy on May 16-17, 2016. Objectives of the Seminar were to examine the elements of community policing - its importance, concept and implementation, to discuss case studies pertaining to community policing, to analyze best practices in community policing, sharing personal experience with reference to community Policing and to identify steps to be taken for improving community policing. 20 officers participated in the Seminar. Dr. M.K. Devarajan, IPS (Retd. ), Member, SHRC, Rajasthan was the chief Guest for valediction.

Visit of Shri Akshay Kumar

Actor, Producer and martial artist Akshay Kumar visited the Academy on 26 th April and intracted with probationers and MCTP participants. He Gave an Authentic Speach on Sound and Soul of the Body and he also had a hand to hand combat session and ended the day by playing volley ball with probationers.

03-Day Course on "Leadership"

03-Day Course on "Leadership" was conducted in the Academy from April 6-8, 2016. Objectives of the course were Enhance self-awareness -gain insights into personal leadership preferences & impact, gain insights into personal leadership development , working with others, giving and receiving feedback for development, thinking systematically, increase awareness of organizational boundaries, key stakeholders and ways to influence and develop a structured goal setting and action planning. 27 officers participated in the Course. Shri Umesh Sharraf, IPS, Joint Director (Administration & Senior Courses) SVPNPA was the chief Guest for valediction.

Five Day Basic Course on Cyber Crimes

Five Day Basic Course on Cyber Crimes was conducted in the Academy for the Police Officers of the rank of ASP and above from States, CPOs and the equivalent ranks from other LEAs from March 28 - April 01, 2016. Objectives of the course were to develop awareness about Computers and networking, to understand the implications of the Cyber Crime and legal measures to counter it and to understand basics of Cyber Forensics & Standard Operating Procedures for Investigation of Cyber Crimes..25 officers participated in the Seminar. Shri Ravi Gupta, IPS, ADG, Technical Services, Telangana was the chief Guest for valediction.

Reunion Seminar of 1991 batch (44 RR)

Reunion Seminar of 1991 batch (44 RR) was held in the Academy on March 21-22, 2016. 51 Officers from 44 RR attended the Seminar. Theme of the Seminar was "Counter Terrorism - Need for a change in Policy, Strategy and Tactics". Ms. Aruna Bahuguna, IPS, Director was chief guest for Inauguration and Concluding session.

Outreach Programme on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR)

Outreach Programme on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) for Academy was organised by MHRD IP CHAIR, NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad on March 14-16, 2016. Objective of the programme were to sensitize the participants regarding Intellectual property, its importance and the Intellectual Property Rights, to apprise the participants about availability of Anti-Counterfeiting Technologies in India and developed world , to train the police officers about the role of Police in enforcement of Intellectual Property Rights, Legal procedures and Best Practices and to highlight coordination with other stake holders and understand the perspective of various industries . 21 Officers attended the Programme . Ms. Aruna Bahuguna , IPS, Director SVPNPA was Chief Guest for the valediction.

Course on "Ethics"

Course on "Ethics" was conducted in the Academy from March 7-9, 2016 . Objectives of the course were to Understand the values fundamental to policing in India, ethical dimensions of police work, importance of ethical approach in policing and ways of handling ethical dilemmas, be aware of the code of conduct for officers of All India Services, learn as to how the concepts of ethics can be applied for promoting better organisational culture and service delivery and Understand the normative framework on ethics and accountability in other domain areas. 22 All India Service Officers participated in the programme. Ms. Aruna Bahuguna, IPS, Director, SVPNPA was the chief guest for the Valediction.

Course on "Disc Forensics "

A Special Course on "Disc Forensics" was conducted in the Academy by National Digital Crime Resource and Training Centre (NDCRTC) for the Police Officers of the rank of ASP and above from States, CPOs and the equivalent ranks from other LEAs from March 7-10, 2016. Objectives of the course were to create awareness about Basics of Computer and Digital forensics, Understanding the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) of handling Digital Evidence and hands-on practice with different Imaging, Hashing & Data Analysis tool.22 officers participated in the Seminar. Ms. Aruna Bahuguna, IPS, Director, SVP NPA was chief guest for the valedictory function.

Course on "Mobile Forensics "

A Special Course on "Mobile Forensics" was conducted in the Academy by National Digital Crime Resource and Training Centre (NDCRTC) for the Police Officers of the rank of ASP and above from States, CPOs and the equivalent ranks from other LEAs from March 1-4, 2016. Objectives of the course were to provide basic understanding of Mobile Phone Communication technology & Hi-tech Crime trend with Mobile Phones, Rules & Regulation related to Voice Interception, Analysing Call Detail Record & Tower Dump with MS EXCEL , Sources of Digital Evidence in Mobile Phone and Mobile Phone Forensics. 22 officers participated in the Seminar. Ms. Aruna Bahuguna, IPS, Director, SVP NPA was chief guest for the valedictory function.

Seminar on "Social Media in Indian Police "

A two days Seminar on "Social Media in Indian Police " was organised in the Academy for Police Officers of the rank of SP and above from States /UTs and the equivalent ranks from CAPFs/CPOs on 18th - 19th February, 2016. Objectives of the seminar were to create awareness about various Social Media in general, how to leverage Social Media Technologies in Policing and how to get evidence from different Social Media service providers of India and Abroad. 22 officers participated in the Seminar. Ms. Aruna Bahuguna, IPS, Director, SVP NPA was chief guest for the valedictory function.

Visit of Shri Prakash Jha

National award winning director Shri Prakash Jha visited the Academy on 15th February. He interacted with the probationers on movies and social issues. He asked probationers to stick to the truth and stand on their ground. He also responded to questions of faculty and probationers.

3-Day Appreciation Course of IRTS Probationers (2013 Batch)

A 3-Day Appreciation Course of IRTS Probationers (2013 Batch) was conducted in the Academy on February 10-12, 2016. 30 IRTS Probationers attended the training programme. Course input covered Introduction to Police Functioning, Managing Crowds in Law & Order Situations, Agitations, Managing Large Crowd of Religious Events at Railway Stations, GRP Functioning - Challenges and Coordination with Railway Authorities, Introduction to Explosive & Explosive Handling, Critical Incident Management, Disaster Management in the context of Railways, Issues Relating to Missing Children and Trafficking of Children & Case studies. Sri K.Siva Prasad, Chief Passenger Transportation Manager, South Central Railway was Chief Gust for the valedictory session.

Course on "Gender Sensitization"

ToT on "Gender Sensitization" was organized in the Academy on February 3-5 , 2016. Shri J.S. Kochher, Joint Secretary, Training and Research National Human Rights Commission gave welcome address. Ms Aruna Bahuguna, IPS, Director SVPNPA delivered Special Remarks and Justice Cyriac Joseph, Acting Chairperson, National Human Rights Commission deliverd the inaugural address. Objective of the Training Programme were to understand the concept of gender and how it impacts equality, to recognize the need for gender sensitivity on the part of law enforcement agencies and to be able to make efforts to attain the same and to work towards mainstreaming gender issued in one's organization. 26 Officers attended the training programme. . Ms Aruna Bahuguna, IPS, Director SVPNPA was chief guest for the valedictory session.

Reunion Seminar of 1981 batch (34 RR) was held in the Academy on January 28-29, 2016. 25 Officers from 34 RR attended the Seminar. Theme of the Seminar was "Strategy to check Radicalization among youth". Ms. Aruna Bahuguna, IPS, Director was chief guest for Concluding session.

Republic Day Parade

The Probationers showed their hard work and dedication by putting an excellent performance in Republic Day Parade on 26 January, 2016. They put up a colorful parade. Ms.Raveena Tyagi, IPS Probationer, commanded the parade. Ms. Aruna Bahuguna,IPS, Director NPA, reviewed the parade.

Course on "Counter Terrorism-V"

Course on "Counter Terrorism-V" was held in the Academy on January 11-22, 2016. 20 officers including 18 IPS officers attended the Course. The Objectives of the Course was to sensitize and empower the young IPS Officers on collection of intelligence, conducting intelligence based operations and effective investigation in combating terrorism. Shri S. Raveendran, IPS, Dy Director (Tac) was Course Director.

The address by Hon'ble President of India

The Hon'ble President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee delivered through Video Conferencing a New Year Message on the topic 'Youth and Nation-Building' to students and faculty of institutes of higher learning and civil service academies including Probationers of 68 RR from Rashtrapati Bhavan on January 19, 2016. The President called upon all educational and civil services institutions to inculcate in their students and trainees a sense of social responsibility. He suggested some steps for enhancing their engagement with the community such as assigning them to teach in nearby government schools for at least one hour per month; deploying them to undertake community-based projects to uplift the condition of people in the vicinity and assigning them to identify problems faced by villages and work on innovative solutions which blend modern technology with local practices.

32nd IPS Induction Training Course

32nd IPS Induction Training Course was conducted in the Academy from November 30, 2015 to January 08, 2016.Objectives of the course were to acquire an all India perspective, to equip them with knowledge and skills required to manage a district charge, and to enable them to develop an understanding of modern management principles as applied to police working. Further, keeping the ground requirements of modern day policing in democratic set up in view, the course is designed to Sensitize the participants towards issues of various disadvantaged groups orient them to functioning in a democratic & people centric system and equip them with Competencies required for discharge of duties effectively in the changing environment. 43 officers from all over the country attended the training. Shri Umesh Sharraf, IPS, Joint Director (Administration & Senior Courses) was the chief guest for Valediction. .

A week Course on Mobile Phone Investigation was held in the Academy on December 7-11, 2015. 25 officers including 10 IPS, 07 IRS and other officers of SP and above of different State Police, CPO's and other Law Enforcement Agencies of Government of India attended the Course. The Objectives of the Course were to provide basic understanding of Mobile Phone Communication technology & Hi-tech Crime trend with Mobile Phones, Rules & Regulation related to Voice Interception, Analysing Call Detail Record & Tower Dump with different Softwares, Sources of Digital Evidence in Mobile Phone and Mobile Phone Forensics. Shri Jayesh Ranjan, IAS, Secretary, IT, Govt. of Telangana delivered the valedictory address.

Reunion Seminar of 1965 batch (18 RR) was held in the Academy on December 3-4, 2015. 25 Officers from 18 RR attended the Seminar. Theme of the Seminar was Welfare of constabulary to empower the Police Force. Ms. Aruna Bahuguna, IPS, Director was chief guest for Inauguration and Valediction.

Chennai Flood Relief

All Faculty and Staff members of NPA contributed about 1000 Kg of relief materials like Rice, Dal, Milk Powder and Medicines to Chennai today and one day Salary in CM's Relief Fund. This is a small effort on our part to meet this colossal natural disaster in Chennai and surrounding areas.

Passing out Parade of 67 RR (2014 Batch) of IPS OT

141 probationers of 2014 Batch has Passed Out of the portals of this great institution on 31 October , 2015. At a grand ceremonial parade, Shri Ajit Doval, National Security Advisor reviewed the parade and took the salute. The batch consists of 141 IPS Officer Trainees along with 6 officers from Royal Bhutan Police Service, 4 officers from Maldives Police Service & 05 officers from Nepal Police have also passed out of the Academy. 26 Lady officers were also part of the parade. During the course of training, they have undergone rigorous training in field craft skills that includes instruction-cum-practice in various drill movements, weapon training, firing, yoga, horse riding, rock climbing, swimming, unarmed combat, map reading and field craft and tactics. The batch has also undergone training with the Greyhounds, the special task force of Andhra Pradesh Police in anti-guerilla warfare. The batch has also been given inputs in Law, Constitution, Criminology, Psychology, Investigation, Forensic Science and Medicine, Public Order Management, Principles of Leadership and Management, and Police Ethics, besides Information Technology and Cyber Forensic. The overall best probationer for the batch, Dr. Parthrajsinhg N Gohil of Gujrat , received the Prime Minister's Baton and Home Ministry's Revolver. The baton and a revolver awarded by the Union Home Ministry are won by the Probationer who secures the highest overall marks in training. The IPS Association's Sword of Honour for the Best Outdoor Probationer was awarded to Shri M.Sree Abhinav of Tamil Nadu Cadre. The 1973 Batch Officer's Trophy for the Best All-round Lady IPS Probationer has been awarded to Ms Bhavana Gupta of West Bengal Cadre.

Director's Parade

Director's Parade was held at the Parade Ground on 27 October 2015. The Director of the Academy Ms. Aruna Bahuguna inspected the Parade and accepted the Salute. The Director rendered the Speech on Smart Policing and how Police need to get Tech Savvy to fight crimes of 21st Century. Visit of Shri Raghuram Ranjan

On the occasion of 30th Sradar Vallabhbhai Patel Memorial Lecture on 23rd October 2015, Dr. Raghuram Ranjan Governor Reserve Bank of India, visited the Academy. He rendered his talk on "Reforming India's Economic Institutions. " The lecture was followed by interactive session with the Officer Trainees and other dignitaries present during the 30th Sradar Vallabhbhai Patel Memorial.

Tonk Cup 2015

Tonk Cup 2015 was held on 17 October 2015 at Site A horse Riding Ground. 6 finalists from 67 RR gave enthralling performance. This event is organized to develop roots in comprehensive cavalry, requiring mastery in controlling. After the three rounds of rides and Jumps, Shri Dinesh Gupta was declared the winner of Tonk CupMr. Sham Mohd. was the first runners up and Shri Sachin Sharma was the second runners up. Dr. Parthrajsinh N Gohil, Ms Charu Nigam and Manjunath TC where the other Finalsits.

5 day Course on Investigation of Internet based Crimes & Open Source Intelligence

A week Course on Investigation of Internet based Crimes & Open Source Intelligence was held in October 2015. 32 officers including 18 IPS, 06 IRS of the rank SP and above of different State Police, CPO's and other Law Enforement Agencies of Government of India attended the Course. The Objectives of the Course were to enable the participants To make the participants aware about basics of Networking, Internet Architecture, Protocols & current crime trends on Internet , Social Media and Open Source Intelligence and Investigation of Crime committed on Internet Topics discussed during this Course are Networking & Internet Architecture, Internet Governance, Browser Forensics , Log Analysis, TRAI guidelines & Investigation Abroad, Changing nature of Internet Based Crimes, Email Investigation, Latest Technology used for detection different Cyber Crimes, Online Social Media, Open source intelligence, Advance Internet Search Techniques for Open Source Intelligence Collection, Legal Challenges in prosecuting Internet based Crimes etc. This Course was one of its own kind in the country and was highly appreciated by the participants in general.

East Zone Cultural Night

East Zone Cultural Night was organized on 17 October 2015 at Academy Auditorium. 67 RR Officer Trainees and Faculties attended the Event in the traditional attire of the East. After the culturals eastern Cuisine was served.

Reunion Seminar of 1985 Batch

Reunion Seminar of 1985 batch (38 RR) was held in the Academy on 15-16 October 2015. 60 Officers from 38 RR attended the Seminar. Faculties of the batch Shri Rakesh Jaruhar, Shri Y.S.Rao, and the then CDI Shri Rustum Aloi also attended the Seminar. Theme of the Seminar was Communal Riots a breeding ground for Terrorism.

Film Festival

A documentary Film Festival was conducted for the officer trainees of 67 RR by Shri Rahul Jain , Secretary, Film & Cultural Society of North East, Assam on October 12-13, 2015. Documentaries of sensitive and light kind where screen to maintain the balance of the complete festival. The documentaries gave insight on nature of various issues, the challenges faced as a Police Personnel and as well as a citizen, the root concerns and a perception on making an Documentary. The documentary movies screened during the festival included Not My Life , Brush with Life, One Night in Bhopal, Supermen of Malegaon, DNA Dreams, Nero's Guest, The Chess Players etc. The officer Trainees also got space to interact with the makers of these Documentaries. The 67 RR OTs and the Faculty had an experience of its kind during the Film Festival

Duathlon 2015

Great Hyderabad Adventure Club Organised Hyderabad Triathlon and Duathlon. It�s a test of strength, stamina & endurance and pushing limits, while reveling the satisfaction of finishing the event. Officer Trainees of 67 RR, Faculty and Academy Staff actively Participated in the Event. There where various Categories, but nearly 50 OTs and 50 Staff completed the Olympic Duathlon which included 10 km run- 40 km Cycling � 5 km run. All the participants where in high spirits. The Director of the Academy was present on the tracks to encourage the OTs and Staff

The Annual Athletic Meet 2015 for 67 RR Officer Trainees was held from 7-9 October 2015. Various Competitions were held for 67 RR OTs, Faculty and staff. Shri C.V. Anand , IPS was the Chief Guest for the Closing Ceremony.


International Women in Law Enforcement Conference 6-8 Oct,2015

The Academy was delighted to host the International Women in Law Enforcement Conference - Leadership, Collaboration & Security 2015 from 6-8 Oct,2015.The Event intended to galvanize this powerful law enforcement constituency, contribute to the ongoing development of resilient and efficient organisations, strengthen skills and competencies of future women leaders and influence inter regional networking. The conference was being organised by partner institution, Charles Sturt University, Australia with presenters from - India, Australia, Canada, Germany, Indonesia, Singapore, UK and Spain. The conference was a major event for women from the broad law enforcement community across South Asia, the wider regional and international areas. The conference appealed to women professionals from international police organisations, crime and justice commissions, national security and intelligence agencies, customs and border protection agencies from around the region and the international law enforcement community.The conference reflected the significant role of women in mainstream law enforcement and will enable you to better understand emerging international trends and issues. Valuable ideas and practices where shared through real world case studies presented by senior practitioners. It developed insight for institution and better understanding the many challenges faced by law enforcement professionals. The conference provided a combination of presentations and discussion, through the many sessions that are on offer and opportunities to learn from professional practices and current research, all with a strong strategic and operational focus.

Visit of Hon'ble Union Minister of State (I C) for Commerce & Industry

Ms. Niramala Sitaraman Hon'ble Union Minister of State (I C) for Commerce & Industry visited the Academy on 03 October 2015. She interacted with IPS Officer Trainees of 67 RR. The theme of the discussion was Role of Police Officers in ensuring peaceful Business and commerce, the drift in Import Export Ratio, ensuring economy security in people's mind and other takes on economy. The OTs immensely got benefitted out of this interaction.

Module on Forest & Wildlife Crime Detection

4- Day Module on Forest & Wildlife Crime Detection for Officer Trainees of Indian Forest Service was held in the Academy from Sep 28th - Oct 1st, 2015. A total of 60 participants attended the Course which includes 6 Lady Officer Trainees. The objective of the Course was Understanding trends in forest and wildlife crimes, Investigation and detection of forest and wildlife crimes, Use of computer technologies in investigation and detection of crimes, Application of forensic techniques in investigation of forest and wildlife crimes, Effective handling of mobs and related problems and Managing trials related to forest and wildlife crimes. The Training Methodology of the Course included Hands on experience in use of technologies and cyber tools, Simulation of crime scene and its handling, Presentations, Case studies and Discussions. Ms. Aruna Bahuguna, IPS Director of the Academy was the guest for the Valediction.

IPS Vs IFS Officer Trainees Friendly Football Match

The Officer Trainees of 67 RR Indian Police Services and Indian Forest Services had a friendly football match on 1 October 2015.So here are the highlights. The IPS OTs lead the first half with 1-0, there was no goal scored in the second half.Tackling and passing were great from both sides. Overall the IFS OTs were aggresive but the good defence of the IPS OTs got them the game. It was a healthy match with no injuries and awesome commentary. Overall an enjoyable experience for both the parties.

Outdoor Final Examination for the 67 RR Officer Trainees were conducted from 28-30 September 2015. It was scenario based test. The Examination Scenario deemed many constrains and the OTs had to overcome them.

67th Academy Week Anniversary Celebration 14/09/2015

The 67th Academy Anniversary was celebrated from 15-19 Sept, 2015. The Anniversary started off with paying floral tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Various competitions like Painting, Quiz , Rangoli, Best out of waste, story Telling Etc were conducted. BaraKhana was organized for the employees of the Academy. The Officer Trainees of 67 RR organized FETE where various innovative fun games were presented. The Academy Week celebration concluded with Musical Night.

Hindi Rajbhasa Celebration 14/09/2015

Hindi Raj Bhasa was celebrated in the Academy from 14-24 September, 2015. It is celebrated to propagate the Hindi language and its cultural, heritage and values. Various events and competitions are held to mark the celebration. Hindi Essay writing, News reading, Elocution, Quiz, Antakshari, Memory Games, Dictations Etc. competitions where held to encourage the use of our National Language.

North Zone Cultural Night was held on 9 September 2015.Cultural Events and traditions of Northern region was showcased.All the faculties and OTs enjoyed the night.

Annual Aquatic Meet 07/09/2015

Annual Aquatic Meet was held for the 67 RR Officer Trainees from 7-9 September 2015. The varied events held were 50 m butterfly, 50m free style, 200m individual medley, 100 m freestyle, 4x50 medley relay, 4x50 freestyle relay, Water Polo Match, 50m back stroke, 50 m beast stroke etc. Shri. Rajiv Trivedi Home Secretary for the state of Telangana was the Chief Guest for the Valediction.

Visit of IB Director

Shri Dineshwar Sharma, Director Intelligence Bureau visited the Academy on 03 September, 2015. He interacted with the IPS Officer Trainees of 67 RR. He spoke about the roles and responsibilities of IB and the organizational set. up.

Airtel Hyderabad Marathon 30/08/2015

The Faculty and staff of the Academy gave an overwhelming response to the Airtel Hyderabad Marathon 2015. Nearly 70 employees of the Academy completed the Half or Full Marathon. The mission of the run was To promote running as the preferred form of exercise in and around the twin cities. And the Academy was in its complete running spirit.

Mid Career Training Programme Phase IV

Mid Career Training Programme Phase IV was held in the Academy from August 31- September 24 , 2015. A total of 68 IPS Officers attended the Course. The theme of the course was "Strategy, Innovation and Management." The entire Course was divided into 4 Modules 1. Professional Topics 2. Best Practices & Innovation 3. Leadership and Team Building and 4. Strategic Management. The Course was a 5 week Course, out of which 4 weeks where in the Academy and 5th week was an Exposure Visit to London. Mr. Richard Wortley Director, Department of Security & Crime Science was the Chief Guest for the Valediction. Ms. Aruna Bahuguna, IPS Director of the Academy rendered the closing remarks.

Counter Terrorism

Course on Counter Terrorism was held in the Academy from 31 August - 11 September, 2015. The main objective of the above 10 days programme is to sensitize and empower the young IPS Officers on collection of intelligence, conducting intelligence based operations and effective investigation in combating terrorism. 20 participants attended the seminar out of which 18 where IPS officers and 2 from CAPFs. Shri M. Vishnuvardhana Rao, IPS IGP, CRPF was the Valedictory Guest.

Seminar on National Security

Seminar on National Security was held in the Academy from 24-28 August, 2015. 47 participants attended the Seminar out of which 5 IAS,16 IPS, 5 IRS , 10 from CPO's and 11 where from defence. A 03 Days Faculty Development Programme on "Facilitating a Leadership Development" was held in the Academy from 18 to 20 August 2015. 18 officers attended this module out of which 15 were in house faculties and 3 outstation participants. Instruments, Processes and Exercises for Leadership where carried out in this development module. Shri Rajiv Pratap Rudi, Hon'ble Minister of State visited the Academy on 13 August, 2015. He interacted with the IPS Officer Trainees of 67 RR. The interaction revolved around Police and Politician Relationship. He also talked about the roles and responsibility of Police officers during elections, initiatives to be taken by Police officers, methods use by corrupt politicians for gaining legal flavours etc. This interaction by Shri Rudi expatiated the OTs

Visit of Shri K Tarakarama Rao, Hon'ble Minister of IT & Panchayat Raj for Telangana State

Shri K Tarakarama Rao, Hon'ble Minister of IT & Panchayat Raj for Telangana State visited the Academy on 13 August, 2015. He interacted with the IPS Officer Trainees of 67 RR. It was a discussion on Police and Politics. Shri Shri K Tarakarama Rao also threw light on how the Telangana State takes care of its Police Officers.

Visit of CBI Director

Shri Anil Kumar Sinha, Director CBI visited the Academy on 12 August 2015. He interacted with the IPS Officer Trainees of 67 RR . He discussed on Role and Responsibilities of CBI and a movie on CBI by NFDC (National Film Development Corporation) was presented.

Independence Day Parade

The Academy celebrated the 69th Independence Day of the Nation with great splendour and respect. After the Parade entered the parade ground and formed the inspection line, Director and the Joint Directors were escorted to the Saluting base. The National Anthem played by the band, Rashtriya salute by the Parade and with adhered pride in every bystander the National flag was unfurled by the Director of the Academy Ms. Aruna Bahuguna. Subsequently the Parade Commander Shri Karthikeyan Gokulchandran reported to the Director and the Parade was inspected by the Director. After the March past and the Rashtriya Salute in Review order the Academy Colour and the Parade marched off the Parade Ground. Fun games as tug of war, passing the ball, card game etc were organized. The celebration concluded with UAC demonstration by IPS OTs and Prize distribution.

Moot Court

Moot Court was held from 11-13 August 2015 by the 67 RR Officer Trainees. Based on the simulation performed a criminal case was argued in the Moot Court. All the roles of the Court where taken up by the OTs. The roles include parties involved in the lawsuit � Plaintiffs & defendants, Witnesses - plaintiff's witnesses, government witnesses & defence witnesses, Lawyers � prosecutor & public defender, The Judge , The Jury, Court Reporter, Court Interpreter, Courtroom Clerk etc. The Jury counted Sh. P. Mohan Rao, Retd District and Session Judge , Sh. Ravinder Reddy , Sh. Y Subhash and Sh. K Srinivas Senior Advocate, High Court, Andhra Pradesh.

Course on Gender Sensitization

Course on Gender Sensitization was held in the Academy from August 05-07. 31 participants from states and CAPFs attended the course.The objective of the Course were To understand the concept of gender and how it impacts equality, To recognize the need for gender sensitivity on the part of law enforcement agencies and to be able to make efforts to attain the same and To work towards mainstreaming gender issued in one's organization . Shri Gopesh Agrawal, IPS was the Course Director. Shri Rajeev Sabharwal, IPS, I/c Director, SVP NPA was the chief guest for Valediction.

Mid Career Training Programme Phase-V

Mid Career Training Programme Phase V was conducted from July 13-31, 2015 . Mr. Michael Mullins, Consul General , of US Consulate General in Hyderabad was the Chief Guest for the Inauguration, Shri Prashant Shukla National Technology Officer Microsoft India was the Guest of honour and Ms. Aruna M Bahuguna, IPS Director, SVP NPA rendered the opening talk. 76 officers are attended the Training Programme out of which 55 are from state Police and 21 from CPO's and other Organizations . Out of 3 week course the first two weeks was held in the Academy and third week was Exposure Visit to Washington DC, USA. MCTP Phase V is meant for officers who would be expected to occupy the top positions in police and other Government departments. The idea is to broaden their worldview and invest them with conceptual management skills suitable for a world class organization head, not restricting to managing police force alone. And the theme of the Training Programme was 'Leadership and Change Management'.

UNODC Regional Workshop

3 day UNODC Sponsored Regional Workshop for South Asian Countries on 'Special Investigation Techniques within a Rule of Law Framework' was held in the Academy on 27-29 July 2015. A total of 28 participants attended the Workshop from 7 countries. The participants were from India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, Srilanka, Afghanistan and SAARC Secretariat. Ms. Cristina Albertin, Representative, UNODC, Regional Office for South Asia, Delhi addressed the Workshop and Shri Divya Prakash Sinha Secretary (Security), Cabinet Secretariat was the Valedictory Guest. UNDOC National Workshop

3 day Training of Trainers Workshop on 'Effective Investigation of Terrorism Cases While Respecting Human Rights' was held in the Academy on 22-24 July 2015. Total of 30 participants attended the Workshop out of which 12 were Police Officers, 12 Judges and 12 Prosecutors. Course on Urban Tactics was held in the Academy on 6-11 July 2015. The objective of the course is to make the participants conversant with; Mechanics of urban ops, Room entry techniques, Planning and execution of the police operations in urban scenario. 34 officers attended the Course. Seminar on Community Policing was held in the Academy on 29-30 June. Seminar on IT Applications in Indian Police was held in the Academy on 18-19 June 2015. 34 Police Officers participated in the Seminar. Dr. J. Satyanarayana, IAS (Retd.) I.T. To bring IT managers of different Police Organisations at one platform to share the challenges they have faced in use of IT and 2. 25 years Re-union Seminar of 1990 batch

25 years Re-union Seminar of 1990 batch was held in the Academy on 15-16 June, 2015. 64 officers of 43 RR participated in the Re union Seminar and 12 Ex-faculty of 43 RR also attended the Seminar. The theme of the Reunion Seminar was Leading from Front: More in Exception than in Practice . Ms Aruna Bahuguna, Director SVPNPA was the chief guest for Inauguration & Valediction. Sh Vipul Kumar, DD(BC) was the seminar Director.

Visit of Shri Kiren Rijiju Hon'ble Minister of State for Home Affairs

Shri Kiren Rijiju Hon'ble Minister of State for Home Affairs visited the Academy on 12 june 2015. The event commenced with laying of wreath for Martyrs Memorial. Later the Hon'ble Minister of State for Home Affairs inaugurated the officers club. Deputy Director Tac gave a presentation on various activities of the Tac Wing followed by the Course report of Course on Counter Terrorism. Shri Kiren Rijiju interacted with the Officer Trainees of 67 RR and Valedicted the 31 st Induction Training Course.

31st IPS Induction Training Course

31st IPS Induction Training Course for SPS Officers was held in the Academy from May 5 to June 12, 2015. 63 officers attended the Course. The inputs given during the course where All India Services and Administrative set up,Managing the District,Interpersonal skills and Self-Development,New dimensions of policing,Recent advances in Police work, Science and Technology in Police Work and Field visits. A STUDY-CUM-CULTURAL TOUR was organized for the participants from 23rd May to 3rd June, 2015. The participants were divided into 4 groups and taken to Kerala, TN & Lakshadweep , J & K, Chandigarh, HP, Delhi & Rajasthan, WB, Sikkim, A & M and Maharashtra, Goa & Gujarat. The Course exposed them to various indoor subjects IPC CrPC, IEA, Spl Laws, Forensic Science , Forensic Medicine, Crime Prevention & Criminology,Investigation I & II, ICT, Ethics & Human Rights ,Maintenance of Public Peace and Order , Internal Security, Police in Modern India and Police Leadership & Management. And the outdoor exposure was on PT, Drill, Weapon Training & Firing, Yoga, Unarmed Combat, Swimming, Field Craft & Tactics, Equitation and First Aid and Ambulance Drill. Shri Kiren Rijiju Hon'ble Minister of State for Home Affairs was the guest of Honour for the Valediction.

Course on Counter Terrorism June 01-12, 2015

Course on Counter Terrorism was held in the Academy from 01-12 June, 2015. The main objective of the above 10 days programme is to sensitize and empower the young IPS Officers on collection of intelligence, conducting intelligence based operations and effective investigation in combating terrorism. Shri Anurag Sharma, IPS Director General of Police Telangana, Hyderabad was the Inaugural Guest for the Course.

Inter Service workshop on Best Practices May 27-29, 2015

Inter Service workshop on Best Practices was held in the Academy from 27 -29 May, 2015. The Workshop was to share experiences of respective services, best practices adopted in policy, procedures and delivery mechanisms and the outstanding work by officers of different departments and other sectors, discussions on common problems affecting civil services, role and future of civil services in this rapidly changing scenario in the globalised environment. 20 officers participated in the workshop from different services. Ms. Deepa B Dasgupta, IRS, Chief Commissioner of Customs & Central Excise & Service Tax, Visakhapatnam Zone was the chief for the Valedictory Session.

Mid Career Training Programme Phase-IV April 06-May 09, 2015

MCTP IV is organised from April 06-May 09, 2015. Prof. Nick Tilley UCL, UK was the Chief Guest for the Inauguration, Prof Gloria Laycock, OBE UCL, UK was the Guest of honour and Ms. Aruna M Bahuguna, IPS Director, SVP NPA rendered the opening talk. 75 officers are attending the Training Programme. It's a 5 week course where the first four weeks would be held in the Academy and third week in UK.The objective of the Course is intended to help the participants consolidate their experiences and help them analyse the current practices in developed countries in the light of the requirements of a modern police management at the top level. Emphasis would be on helping them on their skills in Human Resources management, strategic planning, planning, directing and team building. And the theme of the Training Programme is 'Strategy, Innovation and Management'

Public Speaking Module for 67 RR Officer Trainees 17.03.2015 to 20.03.2015

The art of articulation be mastered by Police Officers. Being able to speak in public with confidence or commanding the team or appearing in courtroom with certainty is an absolute must. Having an authoritative tone in their voice and being able to communicate efficiently and convincingly is the best way to avert disaster and lead others to safety. We, in NPA brush up the excellence in our OTs and groom them to face tomorrow.

Workshop on 'Missing Children' 30.03.15 to 31.03.15

Workshop on 'Missing Children' was held in the Academy on 30-31 March 2015. A total of 19 participants attended the workshop. Dr. P. M. Nair, IPS (Retd.) Former Director General, National Disaster Response Force inaugurated the workshop and Mrs. Asha Menon Member Secretary, National Legal Services Authority, New Delhi was valedictory Chief Guest . Various concerns where discussed allied to Police and Community Developing Linkages and Coordination for Better Child Protection, Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children, Government of India Policies and Schemes for Missing Children , Working with Missing Children , Policy Framework, Dimension, Challenges on Missing Children & the Way forward , Missing Children & Role of Police and experience sharing etc.

Basic Course on Cyber Crime

Basic Course on Cyber Crimes was held in the Academy from 23-27 March, 2015.The Course was attended by 29 participants,which constituted of 15 from State and 14 CPOs/other organization. The Course was valedicted by Dr.Siva Sivasubramanian ,Chief of Security,India and South Asia, Airtel .The objective of the Course was to develop awareness about Computer, Networking, Social Media and Cloud Computing, to understand the implications of the Cyber Crime and legal measures to counter it, to understand basics of Cyber Forensics & Standard Operating Procedures for Investigation of Cyber Crimes and not to make Participants Cyber Crime Investigator . Shri H K Kusumakar IPS, Deputy Director was the Course Director.

Mid Career Training Programme Phase-V 09.03.2015 to 20.03.2015

MCTP is been held from 09 March to 20 March 2015. Dr. Sushil Vachani Director IIM, Bangalore was the Chief Guest for the Inauguration, Shri Prashant Shukla National Technology Officer Microsoft India was the Guest of honour and Ms. Aruna M Bahuguna, IPS Director, SVP NPA rendered the opening talk. 88 officers are attending the Training Programme out of which 64 are from state Police and 24 from CPO's. It's a 3 week course where the first two weeks would be held in the Academy and third week in USA.The objective of the Course is meant for officers who would be expected to occupy the top positions in police and other Government departments. The idea is to broaden their worldview and invest them with conceptual management skills suitable for a world class organization head, not restricting to managing police force alone. And the theme of the Training Programme is 'Leadership and Change Management' .

Mid Career Training Programme Phase-III 09.02.2015 to 13.03.2015

Mid-Career Training Programme Phase-III was held from Feb 09 to Mar-13, 2015. 83 participants attended the course out of which 77 officers where from State Police and 6 from CPO's . It was a 5 week long Course and was in collaboration with National Police Academy and Charles Sturt University Australia. Mr. Graham Sunderland was the Programme Director. The objective of the course was to prepare the officer for the 'next level competency', and to enable them to possess the necessary skills and attitudes to discharge their responsibilities effectively and the Theme of the Course was to ' Honing up Skills with Global Perspective'. The four weeks course design in India included five major streams of topics:Updating professional skills and knowledge;Responsive Policing Welfare and Leadership;Personal, Social and Professional attitudes, and Innovations .One week foreign component included visits to institutions/locations to study the global best practices ;Class room lectures and Interaction with eminent personalities/Police managers. It was a well-structured Course and the session plan incorporated Updating Professional Skills and Knowledge, Welfare and Leadership, Responsive Policing, Personal, Social and Professional Attitudes and Innovations/Key Note Lectures. The Closing remark was given by Ms. Aruna M Bahuguna, IPS Director, SVP NPA.

Reunion Seminar of 1980 batch (33 RR) of IPS officers was held on February 19-20, 2015. 22 officers of 33 RR attended the Reunion Seminar. The theme of the Seminar was How Headquarter can support the field offices ? Padmashri Dr. S. Subramanian, IPS (Retd.) rendered the Valedictory Address and Sh. Umesh Sharraf, IPS Jt. Director(Admin. & SC), SVP NPA gave the closing remarks.

Seminar on Investigation of Crime Against Women(January 28 - 29, 2015) . A total of 26 participants attended the course. The objective of the course are Crime against Women and the Girl child in India are Genesis and ramifications, Recent trends, Legal Reforms, Desired response of the Police and Criminal Justice System. Eminent personalities gave inputs on various topics, they were Dr. P. M. Nair, IPS (Retd), Shri Ashish Gupta, IPS, Joint Secretary, National Intelligence Grid, New Delhi; Prof. U.Vindhya, Professor of Psychology, TISS, Hyderabad; Ms. Anita Punj, IPS ,IGP, Chandigarh, Punjab; Prof. Bijayalakshmi, Miranda House, University of Delhi; Ms. S. Shyni, IPS, SP, Jharsuguda, Odisha. Ms. Urmila Subbarao, IAS (Retd.) was the Chief Guest for the Valediction.

Wildlife Crime Detection Module 19.01.2015 to 23.01.2015

Wildlife Crime Detection Module was held in the Academy from 19-23 January, 2015. A total of 75 Indian Forest Service Officer Trainees participated in the Module. The objectives of the course was to Investigation of wildlife crimes, Application of Forensic Techniques in investigation of wildlife crimes, Evolve effective strategies to prevent wildlife crimes, Handling crowds and related problems. . Eminent guest speakers shared their knowledge with the participants of the course and they include Shri Ravinder Reddi, Special Public Prosecutor for Customs &Central Excise, Hyd ; Dr. G.V. Rao, Scientist (DNA Testing) Overseas Forensic DNA Adviser; Shri S. Raveendran, IPS, Dy. Director (TAC), NPA; Shri Ramesh Kalaghatgi, IFS, Additional Chief Conservator of Forest; Shri Nitin Desai, Central India Director, Wildlife Protection Society of India, Nagpur; Abhishek Kumar, CDR Analyst. Chief guest for the Valediction was Ms. Belinda Wright Executive Director, Wildlife Protection Society of India and Prof Deepak Mishra Faculty Coordinator (IGNFA) addressed the valediction.
